Gasoline Alley
A Legacy of Automotive Manufacturing and Design
At first this may not seem manufacturing based but it was an interesting peek into the evolution of manufacturing at the turn of the century.
Gasoline Alley Museum, located within Heritage Park Historical Village in Calgary, Alberta, is a museum dedicated to automotive history. It houses one of the world's largest public collections of antique vehicles and oil and gas-related artifacts, primarily dating from the turn of the 20th century to the 1950s.
The museum features meticulously restored classic cars and trucks, a significant collection of vintage gas pumps (including Canada's largest), and various petroleum company signage and products. It offers interactive displays and recreated scenes, such as a 1930s gas station replica, to illustrate the social changes brought about by the automobile. The collection was largely donated by local businessman Ron Carey.
