Timers and Counters are the most common instructions in PLC programs after the basic bit instructions.

There is a little bit of overlap between this lesson and the previous one but many of you had some really good questions.

Note:  There was some really good discussion about differences between Studio 5000/RsLogix 500 timers and Connected Components Workbench counters and we spent some time at the end of this live stream on ideas of how to make them work the same.  If you don't 100% understand the end of this video, don't worry too much.

Make sure you understand how the CTU, CTD, and CTUD work and if you will be doing conversions from Studio 5000 and RsLogix 500, make sure you understand the differences, mainly about how the accumulated value does not decrement below 0 or increment above the preset.  We didn't get it nailed down perfectly but did talk about Structures and User Defined Data Types that you will need as you progress through your lessons.
