Help Needed: Studio 5000 Stuck on "Uploading All Extended Properties"

I am having a major problem with Studio 5000 and I could really use some help from anyone who has run into this before. Every time I try to upload a program from a PLC, the process gets completely stuck on "Uploading All Extended Properties." I have already tried upgrading to version 35 and version 37, but the issue persists.

The strange part is that I can "Go Online" without any trouble at all, but the software refuses to complete a fresh upload unless I already have a matching offline file on my computer.

The Problem

When I go to Communications > Who Active and attempt to upload from a controller at 192.168.1.191, Studio 5000 asks me to create a new file. Once I name the file and start the process, it hangs indefinitely on the extended properties stage.

I’ve noticed a few odd things:

  • It isn't just one PLC; it's happening across multiple controllers and different programs.

  • Upgrading versions didn't fix it.

  • If I use a different computer to get the upload, then move that file to my main machine, I can correlate and go online just fine.

If you have seen this "Extended Properties" hang or know a way to fix it without a total software reset, please let me know. I’m wildly guessing it might be a corrupted common component, but I’m looking for any advice from the community.

Troubleshooting Observations

While troubleshooting, I found that Going Online works perfectly every time. However, the Upload fails or hangs every single time. This is consistent across multiple versions, including v35 and v37.
