Connectivity and Discovery

To begin, you must establish a connection via the PG/PC interface using a PN/IE (Ethernet) network. The "Accessible Devices" tool scans the network to locate the drive. Once found, you can "Upload device as a new station" to bring the drive's current parameters into your project for viewing or editing.

The Commissioning Wizard

The software provides a guided wizard that mirrors the keypad's quick setup but with more visual detail.

Control Selection: You can choose how the drive exchanges data, such as using a ramp function or basic I/O control.

Default Settings: Choosing a macro, such as "Default Setting 12," automatically maps the I/O for standard applications like analog setpoints and reversing.

Motor Data Entry: Inputting parameters like 0.18 Amps and 3300 RPM is simplified with clear data fields.

Diagnostics and Monitoring

One of the primary advantages of Startdrive is the ability to monitor real-time I/O status. The software allows you to see the live state of digital inputs, which confirms that your physical switches and sensors are communicating correctly with the drive before you attempt to run the motor.
