This lesson covers the initial physical setup and electrical connections required to power on your Allen-Bradley Kinetix PLC trainer. While industrial motion control systems typically require high-voltage three-phase power, this training system utilizes an internal power structure that functions completely off a standard 120V AC household outlet.

When integrating the optional human-machine interface (HMI), proper DC wiring wiring discipline must be followed using the color-coded harness. The solid blue wire handles the +24V DC supply, the blue wire with a white stripe connects to the DC common (-24V), and the green wire establishes the equipment ground. For the easiest assembly sequence, plug the network and power leads into the HMI unit while holding it in your hand before sliding and snapping the final assembly onto the physical mounting frame of the trainer leg.
